* Of Special Note for this year:
Each year, the ILPPP presents two programs that address sex offender evaluation. Traditionally, we offer a two-day Assessing Individuals Charged with Sexual Crimes in the Fall, primarily for clinicians who are newer to sex offender evaluation. We also hold a one-day Advanced Seminar in the Spring, primarily for experienced evaluators, particularly those who work in the context of Sexually Violent Predator proceedings. This year, we will hold both trainings in a 3-day period. This allows every attendee to benefit from nationally-known expert Dr. Susan Sachsenmaier, and receive up-to-the-moment training on the Static-99. The Static-99 is by far the most commonly used measure in sex offender risk assessments, and a series of recent research developments has required substantial changes in the ways evaluators use this measure in practice. Among other developments, Dr. Sachsenmaier will address new Static-99 normative data, scoring rules, and practical implications. Participants are welcome to attend all three days of the training sequence - September 7-9 - although newer evaluators should certainly attend September 7-8, whereas more experienced evaluators should certainly attend September 8-9.
