Gary L. Hawk, Ph.D. Memorial Fund

Dr. Gary L. Hawk (1947-2002) died of cancer on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002. Before his medical retirement, Dr. Hawk was an associate professor of psychology at the University of Virginia and was Director of Psychology at the Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy.

As the Daily Progress reports, Dr. Hawk's "clinical insight, diagnostic acumen, and thoughtful, balanced approach to forensic opinions made him a remarkable role model for students and colleagues alike."

In his honor, the Institute has therefore created the Gary Hawk Memorial Fund in Support of Fellowship Training in Forensic Psychology. Contributions can be made online at the web site of the UVA Fund, operated by the UVA Alumni Association (you do not have to be a graduate of the University of Virginia to contribute).

Contributions can also be sent to the Gary Hawk Memorial Fund c/o Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy, P.O. Box 800660, UVa Health Systems, Charlottesville, VA, 22908-0660.
