Continuing Medical Education (CME) is available for most programs.
The University of Virginia Office of Continuing Medical Education requires publication of the following
statements:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University
of Virginia School of Medicine and the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS)
through its relationship with the Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy at the University of Virginia
(ILPPP). The University of Virginia School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical
education for physicians.
The University of Virginia School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of (variable) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The University of Virginia School of Medicine awards 0.1 CEU per contact hour to each non-physician participant who
successfully completes this educational activity. The CEU (Continuing Education Unit) is a nationally recognized
unit of measure for continuing education and training activities that meet specific educational planning
requirements.
The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services through its relationship with ILPPP maintains
a permanent record of participants who have been awarded CEUs.
The cost for each AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM is $12. Continuing Education Units (CEU) are available for non-physicians
through the same Office of Continuing Medical Education at a cost of $12 per contact hour. CEUs must be requested and paid for
by the conclusion of the ILPPP program. We are unable to process CEU requests once the program has adjourned. ILPPP accepts
CEU payment by cash or check only; credit card or EDI transfer payments are not accepted.
Programs offered for CME and CEU are jointly sponsored by the Office of Continuing Medical Education of the University of Virginia
School of Medicine and Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy.
